Blocked Ear Doctor in Bali: Ear Wax Removal & Clogged Ear Treatment
A blocked or clogged ear is most often ear wax, trapped water or fluid behind the eardrum, and each one needs a different fix. At our practice, dr. Yunita D Aluano looks inside the ear first, then treats what she finds. Doctor ear wax removal often restores hearing straight away, and it is far safer than cotton buds, ear candles or DIY kits, which can push wax deeper or injure the ear canal.
Ear examination
A full otoscope check of the ear canal and eardrum before any treatment.
Ear wax removal in Bali
Doctor-performed removal of hard, impacted or build-up wax.
Safe ear irrigation
Gentle flushing, used only when the eardrum is intact.
Medical ear cleaning
Ear cleaning for itchy, blocked or recurring problems, including after surfing or swimming.
Targeted treatment
Ear drops or antibiotics when there is an infection.
Home & villa visits
Available across Bali's main tourist areas.
Ear Problems We Treat in Bali
Bali's pools, surf, dive sites and flights make ear trouble common. These are the problems people ask us about most.
Swimmer's ear relief in Bali
Swimmer's ear (otitis externa) is an infection of the ear canal. Typical signs are pain that gets worse when you tug the outer ear, itching, redness and sometimes discharge. It usually needs prescription ear drops, and the canal may need cleaning first so the drops can reach the skin. Keep the ear dry until it clears.
Trapped water in the ear
Water can sit behind wax or in a narrow canal, causing fullness, crackling and muffled sound. Most cases clear in a day or two. If it lingers, or pain starts, get it checked, because trapped water is a common trigger for swimmer's ear.
Surfer ear cleaning in Bali
Hours in the water, plus wind and salt, can leave surfers with repeated blockages and infections. We clean the canal and check whether its shape is contributing. If a narrowed canal is suspected, we explain your options. Well-fitted surf earplugs help prevent repeat problems.
Muffled hearing after swimming
Muffled hearing after swimming is usually water or swollen wax, and it often settles on its own. See a doctor if it lasts more than a couple of days, or straight away if you have sudden hearing loss in one ear.
Ear pain after diving in Bali
Pain, fullness or muffled hearing after a dive can be ear barotrauma from pressure changes. Do not dive again until you have been examined. Sudden hearing loss, ringing or dizziness after diving needs urgent medical assessment.
Airplane ear pressure relief in Bali
Ear pressure builds most on descent, especially with a cold or blocked nose. Swallow, yawn or gently pinch your nose and blow to equalise, without forcing it. If pain or blockage lasts more than a day or two after landing, there may be fluid behind the eardrum that needs treatment.

Ear Wax Removal & Ear Cleaning in Bali: FAQ
How much does ear wax removal cost in Bali?
Consultations start from Rp300.000. The final cost depends on the treatment you need and whether you want a home or villa visit. Message us on WhatsApp and we will give you a clear price before you book.
Is ear irrigation safe?
Ear irrigation is safe when the eardrum is intact and the ear has been examined first, which is why we always look inside with an otoscope before cleaning. It is not suitable if you have a perforated eardrum, ear tubes, a current ear infection or past ear surgery, so tell us about any of these when you book.
Can you do same-day ear cleaning in Bali?
Send us a WhatsApp message with your area and symptoms and we will confirm the earliest available time, often the same day. If you have ear pain, discharge or fever, tell us straight away so we can prioritise you.
Do you visit Seminyak, Canggu, Kuta and Ubud?
Yes. We offer home and villa visits across Bali's main tourist areas, including Seminyak, Canggu, Kuta and Ubud. If you are staying somewhere else, message us and we will confirm whether we can come to you.
How do I get trapped water out of my ear?
Tilt your head to the side and gently dry the outer ear with a towel. Do not push cotton buds or other objects into the canal. Trapped water usually clears within a day or two. If it does not, or if you develop pain, discharge or muffled hearing, book an ear check.
Is it OK to clean my ears with cotton buds?
No. Cotton buds tend to push wax deeper, can scratch the ear canal and make swimmer's ear more likely. If your ears feel blocked or itchy, a doctor can examine and clean them safely.
Can I dive or fly with a blocked ear?
Avoid diving with a blocked or painful ear, because you cannot equalise properly and risk ear barotrauma. Flying with a mild blockage is usually manageable, but pressure pain on descent can be intense, so get your ears checked before your flight if you can.
